  1. That's an interesting story, Ghalib. I'm quite surprised at how different our spelling of Gaddafi is!

I think you've captured the main point - that shops in the gold market are closing because of the war and that most people want to sell rather than buy gold. Perhaps the fact that Benghazi is the second biggest city in Libya could have been incorporated into another sentence, because I don't think it's quite important enough to require a sentence by itself.

I know that you provided a link to the original text, but you should also mention the source of your information at the beginning of your summary. Indeed, telling your reader WHAT you are summarising is a very very important component of a good summary. I think it is also quite important that the person who used the word "crazy" is a shopkeeper who is keeping his shop open. Perhaps something like this would be better:

"Some shopkeepers continue to trade despite admitting that to do so is 'crazy' in the present, dangerous climate."

    What do you think?

  2. Hi Ghalib. This news reminds me of my friend who had to interrupt her study here and go back to Lybia for her family. Sadly we don't know whether she would be able to come back here again.

It's good that your summary has covered one of the main points of this news story. What do you about the point that gold price is fluctuating in Benghazi at the moment?
